How to Make your Workplace more Environmentally-Friendly

Updated: Nov 27, 2018

If you are like the average person, you will spend about ⅓ of your life at your workplace. That is shocking statistic, but can you believe that a place that you are spending so much of your time might be unnecessarily harming the environment every day? There are a few easy ways to make either your own desk or the entire office more environmentally-friendly, so check them out below!

  1. Check out your Recycling Program: The first thing you should check is where your garbage is going. Even if you have a recycling bin, most people don’t know what is okay to be recycled and what is not. Try printing out a guide to what can be recycled and hanging it above the bin for a quick and easy fix! Check out this one.

  2. Use Environmentally-Friendly Office Supplies: This is something that you can do at your own desk. Start small with using recycled paper instead of regular printer paper, or non-toxic highlighters. These are small steps that really do make the difference.

  3. Bring a Reusable Water Bottle/Tumbler: Instead of hanging out at the water cooler and wasting those paper or plastic cups, bring in your own bottle to cut down on waste easily! Plus, if you want to rep Million Waves Project, check out our tumbler here.

  4. Encourage Carpooling: Pollution is still a huge problem, so encourage your coworkers that live close to each other to carpool to work!

Those are just a few tips to save the planet while doing the wonderful work that you do! If you put any of these tips into practice, let us know by tagging us on social media!
